The first (Irish) Open Coffee BBQ is a spin-off of the Open Coffee sessions that have been taking place in Limerick over the last year or so. While these have always been very interesting there has been a suggestion for some time to organise one in a more scenic settings. Evert Bopp had suggested Terryglass on several occasions as he had installed free public WiFi in the “Derg Inn” there.
Eventually a discussion on Jaiku & Twitter led to this blogpost. We are now busy planning the event for this summer. The date has been selected as July 16th!
There will be a function room available for discussions as well as space inside and outside for break-out sessions. I am also trying to arrange the village hall for demos/lectures. On top of that there are BBQ facilities at Terryglass Quay and there will be a BBQ at the end of the day.
