The Shanghai Drupal User Group would like to invite you to Drupal Camp Shanghai ’08 -The first Drupal Camp in Shanghai, China. You are encouraged to come to this event to learn and share your knowledge about Drupal, the web's hottest open source content management system / platform. The Drupal community movement carries on to all corners of the globe with volunteer-run, peer-taught Drupal Camps!Drupal Camp Shanghai '08 will take place at the River South Creative Park on Saturday and Sunday, May 18th, in conjunction with the May 17th Open Source Camp Shanghai. This Camp is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in Drupal and open source culture for a few of days and have fun while doing it.
The format of Drupal Camp Shanghai is an "un-conference", which emphasizes on community knowledge, sharing and collaboration. We expect to host sessions for newbies and the hard-core Drupal developers as well as everyone in between. The emphasis is to freely share information while helping to build a stronger Drupal community in Shanghai and China.
We are now organizing sessions and tracks. Everyone is invited to present and participate. In addition to the sessions there will be plenty of time to code and hack and plenty of people around to answer all the questions you have about Drupal. Please contact us if you would like to submit a session or get involved with the planning of this event.

We're organizing a BarCamp Shanghai as a better option, since the community voice its hope to have an opportunity to learn more about other local projects, companies, technology, open source, web2.0 and Drupal. This will be done in the spirit of openness and community collaboration.
BarCamp and Drupal Camp are events for the Shanghai local communities!
If you're interested in collaborating, don't hesitate to attend these 2 events!
On Saturday and Sunday, May 17th and 18th:
Day 1 May 17th BarCamp Shanghai begins from 12:00PM to 18:00PM, followed by a Community Party at Abbey Road at 19:30.
Things to watch on Saturday:
1. 13:00 ~ 14:30 is Demo Camp
We have 8 x 10 minutes slots: each selected participant will have 5 minutes to pitch / present followed by 5 minutes for QA, during that 10 minutes you can present your:
-business Concept
-project
-prototypes
If you intend to pitch during Demo Camp, please email us to book a slot: robert@raincitystudios.com (if we have more than 8 sessions, we will select by popular vote on the beginning of the session)
It's a golden opportunity to pitch investors on the spot! We are inviting investors, VC, angels. If you know some seeking to make investment, bring them along!
You also can learn about ideas and new technologies from others' demo presentation!
2. 15:00 ~ 16:00 is Startup Camp
We encourage you to help people understand what it takes to do business in shanghai once they prepare their business ideas/ teams/ funds, on processes like:
-startup a company
-create a new project
-how to get resources
-find support
-work with the community etc
If you are experienced in these facets, you can join the Startup Camp panels and share your knowledge with people who thirst to learn more about starting up new projects and business in Shanghai!
3. 16:00 ~ 16:45 Open presentation sessions on co-creation and collaboration
We encourage people to get together and collaborate on ideas presented above, nothing would be more thrilling than seeing people co-creating to make things happen on the spot! Perhaps this could spring a new companies, projects and success stories.
You participation is key to make these community events successful, come collaborate to help create.
4. Session breaks
A break usually last 15-30 minutes. It's an opportunity to network with people, find new topics or meet potential investors, partners or employees! We prepare several breaks throughout the day, meet new people while enjoying yourself!
