Shostakovich: Symphony No. 13, "Babi Yar"

"First Nights" is a series designed to introduce audiences to orchestral music. Each concert concentrates on a single piece and provides background information in different ways.

This program delves into Shostakovich's harrowing and powerful Symphony No. 13 with a theatrical treatment created by internationally known stage and opera director Paul Curran. There will be an intermission before the complete performance of the symphony.
