The exhibition title is part of a quote by Captain John Smith referring to Hampton in his writings about the early exploration of Tidewater. This exhibition features 400 years of Hampton's art, from the earliest settlement through five centuries up until today. Artworks in all media and from all periods by many artists who have lived and worked in and been inspired by Hampton will be on view.
