Jade: the Stone of Heaven
Saturday April 7, 2007
Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block
140 N Main Ave
Tucson, Arizona 85701 Get Directions
'Jade: The Stone of Heaven' features 47 objects made of Jade, one of the hardest stones in the world. The stone varies in color from creamy white to shades of green, blue, yellow, red and black. Jade was the 'Stone of Heaven' and used to fashion many of the ritual objects used in prescribed Imperial rites and rituals. It would have taken many months, or even years, to produce any one of the objects displayed in this exhibit.
