Smith Nature Symposium with keynote speaker Will Raap
Saturday May 8, 2010 from 5:30pm - 9:30pm
Brushwood, Ryerson Woods Conservation Area
21850 N. Riverwoods Rd.
Deerfield, Illinois 60015 Get Directions
Founder and Chairman of the Board of Gardener’s Supply Company, Will Raap is dedicated to developing enterprises that generate economic and social opportunity while protecting natural resources. Raap will share his experiences both with Gardener’s Supply and his numerous environmental restoration and sustainability initiatives. One of the largest online catalog and gardening companies in this country, Gardener’s Supply Company enjoys sales of over $60 million and employs more than 250 people.

The evening includes an exhibition, reception and silent auction. The exhibiting artist is noted architectural photographer, Russell B. Phillips whose large-scale images document the transformation of the Sears Power House on Chicago’s near west side from a massive and riveting, outdated industrial space to a new adapted reuse as a green charter high school serving Chicago’s North Lawndale community. This event is presented in partnership with the Lake County Forest Preserves.

$125 for reception and dinner. $25 ($20 FRW members) for keynote and dessert only. Registration required. Call 847.968.3321 or register online at www.LCFPD.org.
