Carnivore Kingdom
Friday June 4, 2010 from 9:30am - 5:00pm
The Philadelphia Zoo
3400 W Girard Ave
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104 Get Directions
In addition to snow leopards, jaguarundis and white-nosed coatis, you'll also meet a vegetarian - a red panda. The word "carnivore" has two meanings. Literally, it means "meat-eater." However, the word is also used to group all the varieties of dogs, bears, cats, raccoons, ferrets and hyenas. So, these pandas are considered carnivores even though they usually eat bamboo. In addition, you'll also see two pairs of giant river otters.
