Nanotechnology is the platform for an enormous array of new businesses, impacting nearly every aspect of human existence. The ability to successfully commercialize nanotechnology-based products promises the next wave of explosive economic growth. However, the distance between today's technologies and tomorrow's businesses is great. Understanding how nanotechnology companies can successfully cross the chasm is the theme of our panel.

Today there are many venture-backed nanotechnology start-ups, but few have been able to reach an IPO or another successful exit to date. Given the long product development times, most nanotechnology companies lack sufficient revenue from existing products to support ongoing development. Nevertheless, many companies are alive and well, surviving on a mix of venture capital, government contracts and cash conserving strategies.
Our keynote speaker is Dr. Angela Belcher, widely recognized as one of the world's leading materials scientists. She will describe the present and future of nanotechnology, focusing on the nanobiotech area of biomimetics and how to harness biological systems to self-assemble electronics.

Members $20, NonMembers $30, Students FREE.
