Chicago Symphony Orchestra with Riccardo Muti: Concert for Chicago

Distinguished conductor Riccardo Muti is the tenth music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He launches his inaugural season with a free performance in Millennium Park, featuring Verdi’s Overture to La forza del destino, Liszt’s Les préludes and Respighi’s Pines of Rome.

The main concert begins at 5:30 PM with pre-show performances including the following:

Wrigley Square (Michigan Ave. and Randolph St.)
2:00-2:30 PM Hyde Park Suzuki Institute String Ensemble
2:30-3:00 PM Academy Chamber Orchestra from Music Institute of Chicago
3:00-3:30 PM Quintethero Woodwind Quintet from Midwest Young Artists
3:30-4:00 PM Alegre Strings from Merit School of Music

Cloud Gate
4:00-4:30 PM Merit Trombone Choir from Merit School of Music

Jay Pritzker Pavilion
4:00-5:00 PM Chicago Children’s Choir; Josephine Lee, artistic director and Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestral; Allen Tinkham, music director
5:30-7:30 PM Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Riccardo Muti, music director

NOTE: The Jay Pritzker Pavilion seating bowl will open at 4PM. Once capacity is reached in the seating area, lawn seats only will be available.
