In 1922, Charles Deering constructed the Stone House, an impressive Mediterranean Revival style mansion. The finely crafted details, bronze and copper-clad doors and windows, the 18-inch thick, poured concrete walls and the limited use of wood made this structure virtually impenetrable to fires and storms, and a safe repository for his valuable art and antique collection. Enjoy this guided walking historic tour.
