The Ultimate Set
Saturday August 21, 2010 from 9:00am - 9:00pm
National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum
25 Main St
Cooperstown, New York 13326 Get Directions
Baseball cards have captured the imagination of fans for more than a century, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is celebrating that history with the opening of a new exhibit entitled 'The Ultimate Set.' Loaned by Ken Kendrick, long-time collector and managing general partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the collection of 25 cards spans decades and represents many players. This collection demonstrates how half a century of history altered the business of baseball cards and the game itself. The exhibit features cards from Kendrick's collection, which he began as a child in the 1950s, including: Topps rookie cards for Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle, Henry Aaron and Sandy Koufax; a rare Bowman 1954 Ted Williams card; and a T206 Honus Wagner card once owned by Wayne Gretzky, the game's most famous collectible.
