Beware! This show is not for the easily offended. Robert Schimmel had starred in several HBO and Showtime specials, had hot-selling CDs, was playing to packed houses across the land and was on the verge of launching his own TV series. That's when he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and the career came to a screeching halt. As detailed in his book "Cancer on $5 a Day (*Chemo Not Included)," Schimmel decided he was not going down without a furious fight - as well as a few laughs. He's lived to not only tell the story on paper, but he's been on stage, and has just released this new DVD of his "Life Since Then" Showtime special. Schimmel's material is still not for everyone and he'd scare the daylights out of those who like their comedy on the mild side. This is not a mild guy, but this is a survivor in the truest sense of the word.
