Terrific Answers to Tough Questions: Succeeding in difficult job interviews

3:00pm
This seminar is not "just another lecture about interviewing skills." Instead, a panel of HR pros will offer advice about handling the thorniest questions and situations. If you've ever been "thrown off your game" in an interview, this program will help you be better prepared for the next time. Discussion points will include:
-- Answering "Why did you leave your last job?" if you were terminated for cause or performance. Or you left due to sexual harassment or other legal/ethical predicament.
-- Metaphoric questions, that some people find silly, e.g. "If you were a car, what kind would you be?"
-- What to do when your interviewer is disinterested, inept or hostile.
-- Meaningful replies to self-critique questions such as "We all make mistakes. What is the worst mistake you've ever made and how did you fix it?"
-- Navigating the stress interview.
-- What to do when you've blown it.
The second hour will be devoted to Q&A: bring examples of challenging interviews! Cards will be provided to submit your questions anonymously.
