In the Jepson Center's Varnedoe Gallery, the Telfair is presenting over 30 important works from The Walter O. Evans Collection of African American Art. Dr. Evans, who was born in Savannah, has amassed one of this country's finest private collections of African American art. The Telfair's exhibition of selected works from Dr. Evans's collection will feature a number of pioneering African American artists working in a diverse range of styles and will include pieces by Charles White, Aaron Douglas and Hughie Lee-Smith.
