It was hard to find a rock festival anywhere in the world this summer where Vancouver’s Japandroids weren't on the bill. They’ve played everything from South by Southwest to Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival to Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn. Brian King and David Prowse forged the garage-rock duo in 2006 after meeting at the University of Victoria. Their resulting meteoric rise has been fueled by feverish reviews on indie-music websites like Pitchfork, which placed Japandroids’ Post-Nothing at number 15 on its 50 top albums of 2009.

On this date, they are opening for The Walkmen.
