The Farmer's market is supported by: Downtown Development Committe, City of New Iberia, and LSU Ag Center. The market vendors also participate in the Louisian Nutrition assistance Coupon Program for the elderly through Commissioner Mike Strain's Office. All items are homegrown or homemade. With fresh and frozen produce from local farmers, handmade crafts, jams, jellies, preserves, baked goods, live animals, farm fresh eggs and frozen seafood (stuffed crabs, and jalapenos, crab and shrimp patties, etc.), there is something for everyone of all Ages. This is a non profit organization designed to provide area producers with an outlet to sell fresh fruits and vegetables directly to the consumer. Its mission is to improve the quality of life in the community by stimulating the agriculture industry and providing consumers locally grown, high quality farm fresh produce. They strive to educate the community about the importance of eating fresh, healthy food, the benefits of purchasing locally grown produce. Local entertainment, Danny Crochet & The Ramblers, perform every saturday morning starting at 8am.
