Intertwined bodies. Voyeuristic glimpses.
Flirtations. Passions. Sweat.
And hard-core dancing.
Emerging Bay Area dance company RAWdance combines forces with composer Chad Jones and visual artist Shawn Tamaribuchi to present Per-Verses: an investigation of porn, art, erotica, and our intimate relationships. With performances June 1-3 at the Belcher Street Studios in San Francisco, the work is designed as an installation, exhibiting the body as a battleground for our personal and political debates of desire. Per-Verses sets technical dancing and performance vignettes against an original electronic soundscape and a multimedia wash of dance and erotic imagery. With the constantly shifting landscape, each audience member helps define his or her own unique view and relationship to the performance.
Per-Verses is being presented as part of the 9th Annual National Queer Arts Festival, a project of the Queer Cultural Center.
