Each year since 1989, the Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF) has honored outstanding Italian American scholars, business leaders and humanitarians at its National Education & Leadership Awards (NELA) Gala in Washington, DC. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, SIF has invited actor Joe Mantegna to be the master of ceremonies and celebrated singer Tony Bennett to deliver a special performance.
