Delectable food samples, live local music, a burger challenge, interactive children’s activities, the popular Muttmazing race and a movie screening under the stars are all on the agenda for the South Lake Union neighborhood’s fourth annual Block Party. The vibrant summertime celebration will take place Friday, August 8 from noon to 11 p.m. CityDog Magazine will host the second annual Muttmazing Race, an obstacle course for dogs and their owners to benefit the Seattle Animal Shelter’s Help the Animals Fund. Admission is free for the day’s various activities, ranging from a Redhook beer garden to a kids area with crafts and games, which are sure to entertain visitors of all ages. The day of revelry will end with a screening of Academy Award-winning film Juno, the last film of the neighborhood’s Cinema on the Lawn series.
