Tango
Sunday May 14, 2006 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Liberty Memorial Museum
100 West 126th Street
Kansas City, Missouri 64108 Get Directions
Tango is not in the feet; it is in the heart. It is the vertical expression of a horizontal desire. The Kansas City Singers plan to seduce you with music from the "Old Guard" tango era.

Tango originated in the quilombos, or brothels, in Buenos Aries, Argentina, in the late 1800s. It was customary for men to tango with the women of the brothels three times in order to find a partner. The expressions of love, loss, control
and passion on the dance floor were then moved to the bedrooms.

The Kansas City Singers invite you to experience the music of Argentina in a vivacious, sensual evening of "Choral Drama." Due to the racy content of this show, children will not be admitted without parents (PG13).

"Tango" will be performed May 12th, 13th and 14th in Liberty Memorial Museum?s 250-seat auditorium. Concerts will start at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Advance tickets, $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors, can be purchased online at www.KCSingers.org or by calling 816-361-0431. Tickets will be available at the door for $18.
