New York's Epic Theatre Ensemble opens Canadian playwright Judith Thompson's Palace of the End in June in a production directed by Daniella Topol and featuring Teri Lamm and Heather Raffo. The play, which had its world premiere in Toronto early this year, was initially commissioned and developed by Epic. Structured as a series of three monologues, it is set against the backdrop of the Iraq war and is "written with poetry and passion," according to the Toronto Star's Robert Crew. Crew calls this daring, outrageous, and riveting play a major work: "Thompson's most brilliantly sustained piece of writing in years."
