The IMA’s annual summer favorite returns. Grab your blanket and lawn chairs, pack a picnic and head to the IMA for movies under the stars.

The Mummy (PG-13 1999)
Directed by Stephen Sommers, starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz
Running Time: 124 mins.

When a group of archaeologists accidentally resurrects a mummified Egyptian priest with a dark past, plagues of locusts and rivers of blood are sure to follow. With full-tilt special effects and a throwback tongue-in-cheek Saturday matinee monster movie appeal, The Mummy is all hokem, spoof and over-the-top action.
Preceded by the cartoon: The Rabbit of Seville

From 6:30–9:00 pm, check out Immortal, a short performance by No Exit Performance, Inc., dramatizing the ancient Egyptian quest for eternal life. Both film and performance are connected to To Live Forever: Egyptian Treasures from the Brooklyn Museum, on view through September 7.

Ticket sales begin and doors open at 6:00 pm for picnicking; films begin at dusk (except on July 11). Tickets available at the door only; members $3, public $8. Members must present current membership card to receive discount. Children six and under are admitted free. All films are subject to change.

Promotional support provided by Emmis Communications.
