Borrowed Landscapes: Learning From Wild Places
Sunday January 16, 2011 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary
208 S Great Rd
Lincoln, Massachusetts 01773 Get Directions
What are the places that you love the most? Is there a forest, a meadow, a hilltop, or a rocky cove that feels both simple and complex, mysterious yet just right? Examine New England's archetypal natural landscapes and native plant communities and identify the qualities that give them the power to intrigue and enchant us. Discuss gardens that use the qualities of natural landscapes to create a powerful sense of place, even in the heart of the city. Along the way, discover design strategies that anyone, from beginner to experienced designer, can use to create places that are inviting, engaging, and memorable. Co-sponsored with Garden in the Woods. Directions will be sent to registrants. - - Open to anyone age 16 or older. Registration is required. Call 781-259-2200 for details. See http://www.massaudubon.org/catalog/listing.php?program_code=1739-DFP11WI1 for more information.
