Jane Wattenberg- Childrens Illustrator Guides Kids Through Their Own Book Illustration at Red Hill Books (Bernal Heights)

Children's book illustrator Jane Wattenberg comes to Red Hill Books art supplies and animals in tow to show kids how to make their own accordion illustrations. The day will be based on Jane's latest, Mrs. Mustard's Baby Faces which is an accordion board book for the wee ones. The class offers a chance for older siblings to make their own versions and learn the art of collage from one of the most esteemed collage artists working in design today! Jane's other recent release is a fun, contemporary take on the ever-needed bedtime tale, Henny Penny. As a special treat, Jane will bring real live chickens to the bookstore so kids can look forward to meeting some real live Henny Penny(ies) who will visit Red Hill Books and provide ample inspiration to chase any art making fears away! The whole thing starts at 2:30, just after nap time and just as summer gets rolling. The event will be over by 4:00pm so everyone should arrive early to get a seat!
