As founder of the LinkedIn "Agile in Belgium" group I see that agile practices are popular in Belgium after all (160+ members), in order to get us going and share some experiences I proposed to come together and had 2 proposals: an open meeting or having a speaker. Looking at the responses to the proposals the choice is about 50/50, since I learned most from real life implementations so far I came up with the following scenario for our first group meeting:
18.30 - Welcome
19.30 - Brief introduction of the attendees
20.00 - Scrum introduction or Open meeting:
- Presentation about Scrum implementation within Agfa Healthcare Connectivity by myself (handling stories, product backlog, planning poker, free writing, review meetings, retrospective meetings, planning meetings, scrum meetings, continuous integration, sprints/iterations...) = scrum introduction to the group & open for discussion
- Open space discussion (not facilitated, unless somebody vollunteers for it)
21.30 - Round-up
Above is a scenario open for deviation and we'll see where we end up, during the entire 'get together' people can add post-its on white boards...
* identifying specific topics they want to see addressed/discussed in detail in future group meetings
* identifying people that are willing to speak about a certain topic in future group meetings
* identifying people that would like to join in facilitating future meetings
In the round up session we might consolidate this information for a next meeting.
