"On May 20th, 2006, DDM warehouse will host the third annual Rock for Charity concert event. The event, growing in popularity every year, will for the first time, showcase a collaboration between Shanghai?s underground music scene and energetic, crowd-pleasing teenage rock bands, all in the name of humanity. Rock for Charity is quickly rising as one of the most successful fund-raising events of its kind. Organized by students and teachers of Shanghai international schools and in cooperation with DDM Warehouse this year, the event will be donating all of its profits to Shanghai Sunrise. Funding donated from this event will be used to assist underprivileged Chinese children in meeting their most basic needs as well as providing for their educational and medical requirements. With overwhelming success in the previous years, Rock for Charity will hold its first all-day event this May, hosting a number of youth bands during the day and established local musicians at night. Teenage bands will be performing during the day, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by some of Shanghai?s premier rock bands from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Among the bands that will be playing are Ferris Wheel, Mint, The Living Thin, and Loudspeaker. This event has been, in its entirety, promoted and organized by volunteer students, and staff.
