The original cast CD for Crystal Theatre's 'Hungarian Nights,' which premiered last fall, will be released at the 8th annual Matthew Chiappetta Memorial Concert. Proceeds from CD sales and the benefit concert help support Crystal Theatre's year-round scholarship program. Singers on the CD include professional actors Mike Longo and Melissa Labbadia along with Cidalia Alves, Jessica Foulds, Max Helfand, Samantha Kulish, Jessica Labbadia and Elizabeth Markow, as well as many other Crystal Theatre students and alumni. It also features guest Hungarian gypsy violinist Jeno Varga. Julia Gallagher, the 2005 Chiappetta scholarship winner and Brien McMahon High School senior, will emcee the concert and special guest Nathan Brenn from the recent Broadway revival of 'West Side Story' will sing 'Somewhere.' The program also will include students in second grade through high school performing excerpts from upcoming Crystal Theatre productions 'Alice In Wonderland,' 'Twelve Dancing Princesses,' 'Perseus the Dragonslayer,' and 'Without Passion or Prejudice.' For the finale, the 150-voice cast will sing 'The Heart Will Go On,' the favorite song of Chiappetta, an 8th grade student at West Rocks Middle School in Norwalk, who had studied and performed with Crystal Theatre for four years prior to his untimely death in March 2004.
