Ronn Yedidia and Friends

The annual concert of "20th Century Music & On" will take place at Merkin Concert Hall on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at 7:30 PM.
The concert will feature a variety of compositions by Ronn Yedidia, and works by composers Edward Thomas and Yuval Edoot.
World premieres will be given to Ronn Yedidia's 2nd String Quartet, 3 of his songs, and
a major work for harp, flute and string quartet entitled 'Fantaisie Concertante'.
Another world premiere will be given to a collaborative composition by Ronn Yedidia and percussionist Yuval Edoot - 'In and Out' - scored for piano, vibraphone and percussion. This work is the next one in a series of new creations by the duo Yedidia-Edoot which experiments with the blending of written music and spontaneous improvisation. It succeeds last year's triumphant presentation of 'Impromptu a Two'.
Other compositions by Ronn Yedidia will include:
'Mi Sheberach' from the Jewish Liturgy - which was commissioned by Temple Israel of Great Neck and premiered there last September, 2005. Scored for : baritone, choir, oboe, cello and piano.
The Song On The Land (for violin, cello and piano)
When Will I See You Again? (for violin, cello and piano)
A work by the prolific American composer Edward Thomas entitled 'Ballet For Two Pianos' will be performed by pianists Fiona Grant and Ronn Yedidia.
Special featured ensembles and soloists include : the renowned Maia Quartet whose members are violinists Tricia Park & Zoran Jakovcic, violist Elizabeth Oakes, and cellist Hannah Holman ; French-Bulgarian harpist Suzanna Klintcharova ; baritone/ cantor Raphael Frieder and singer Sandra Bendor.
