The Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas makes its much-anticipated Lincoln Center debut led by the exciting young Mexican Conductor Alondra de la Parra, at Alice Tully Hall. The Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, formed to champion the work of composers and performers of the American continent, will present the world premiere of Venezuelan composer Paul Desenne's Concerto for Double Bass, bringing together two of Venezuela's brightest classical music stars: double bassist Edicson Ruiz -- the youngest musician to have joined the Berlin Philharmonic in its 124 years -- will be the concerto's soloist. The program also includes Astor Piazzolla's "Tangoza," the Overture to Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story and conductor Erich Kleiber's Suite on Revueltas' "Redes."
