Meet Linda Womack, a nationally acclaimed encaustic artist, teacher and writer at the book signing event of her new tome, Embracing Encaustic: Learning to Paint with Beeswax, on Thursday, June 19, 2008 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Muse Art and Design, located at 4224 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR.

Womack and other Portland-area encaustic artists, including Kimberly Kent and Amy Stoner will be on-hand to discuss techniques of blending molten beeswax, colored pigments, and resins to create the visually rich art form. A gallery of the above artists’ works, and additional pieces by Andrea Benson and Natasia Chan, will also be on display thru July 5. The free event is open to the public, artists and local media. Light refreshments will be served.
