UPDATE: Since it's raining, the party will start at 6:00 so we can enjoy the tent that will be set up for the Gothamist QBQ BBQ.

No joke, there's a beach in Long Island City just one stop away from Manhattan on the Water Taxi. Come early, stay for the sunset or just pop in. You won't believe this weird little "Only in New York" oasis.

Why the party? It's the first Saturday after the 22nd which is Kambri's birthday and the official start of Summer. Bring your blanket and your sunscreen. We'll bring cards and travel Scrabble plus there's beach volleyball. Note: no swimming! This ain't the Hamptons, we're talking the East River!
