Old Saybrook Fire Co. Hosts 5th Annual Firefighters' Competition
The Old Saybrook Fire Co. No. 1 Inc. will host its fifth annual Firefighters Competition 2011 at Clark Memorial Field (Firemen's Field) on Elm Street in Old Saybrook on Sunday, June 5, at 9 a.m. sharp, featuring 10 fire departments from across the Valley Shore area competing in a host of skills-testing events. Valley Shore fire departments include: Chester, Deep River, Durham, Essex, Guilford, Lyme, Killingworth, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.

The daylong event is free and open to the public. Some event categories are color guard, water drafting, add-a-hose-length, and an obstacle course. Several Junior Firefighter events will also be held.

We offer grandstand seating, but those attending are welcome to bring their own seating. In addition, there will be food and beverages available along with children's games, activities and souvenir T-shirts of the event.

Clark Memorial Field is located at 210 Elm St. in Old Saybrook, diagonally across from Pasta Vita on Elm Street.
