Man has always been fascinated by fire, and fire is part of the culture of man. Join us for this inaugural Fire Arts Festival July 19, 2008 as part of Reno's 13th annual Artown celebration. In the heart of downtown Reno's City Plaza, located at 10 North Virginia Plaza, you will be treated to a mesmerizing evening of exotic and thrilling fire performance, dance, and exhibitions of amazing fire art.

You will experience a fusion of ancient martial arts of the Far East and South Pacific as well as the rhythmic ritual of poi spinning from the indigenous Maori culture of New Zealand with a modern twist. This exciting event is free of charge and in a place that is accessible to all. The contemporary style of fire dance is a thrilling experience. Fire Dancing lights up the inner souls of performers and audience alike.
