The Good Lovelies
Thursday October 6, 2011 at 8:00pm
For fans of The Wailin’ Jennys, PineCone introduces another stellar Canadian all-female folk trio – The Good Lovelies. Funny and upbeat with a pinch of sass, the Good Lovelies’ tight three-part harmonies, constant instrument swapping and witty on-stage banter have made them the darlings of international festival circuits. Their debut album won a Juno Award (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy) in 2010 for Roots/Traditional Album of the Year. Supporting a brand new release, Let the Rain Fall (2011), The Good Lovelies are mounting a world-wide tour that includes stops in Australia and the United States. The Raleigh show will be part of their first tour in North Carolina – your opportunity to say you saw them here first! The Good Lovelies are Caroline Brooks (guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass), Kerri Ough (guitar, keys, banjo, glockenspiel, bass), and Sue Passmore (guitar, mandolin, bass). Part folk-roots, part Western swing, the Toronto-based trio will win you over with their unerring three-part vocal harmonies and clever songs and stories. Sample their music online and see why fans are falling for the Lovelies!

Complete details about the event are available at www.pinecone.org.

Anyone who calls PineCone’s box office at 919-664-8302 and mentions the Canadian Consulate, the Canadian Business Association of North Carolina, CanSouth or the Canadian ExPat Network will get a discount on tickets. Tickets for the general public are $25-$27; for our groups, they're $20 for balcony and $22 for orchestra.
