Wormfood 4th Birthday
Saturday October 15, 2011
at
8:00pm
We're all going to end up as food for the worms - so we might as well party while we still can! London's premier partystarters celebrate 4 years of wriggling with a typically monster lineup at their original home, Dalston's one and only Passing Clouds.
We've got a proper diverse lineup, with Harare, live Zimbabwean dance music led by marimba master Kudaushe Matimba (formerly of jit jive supergroup the Bhundu Boys); folk with an urban twist from mighty 11-strong City Shanty Band; growly blues from tattooed travelling bluesman John Fairhurst (this man lives it!), experimental, beautiful violin music upstairs from Wormfood co-founder Max Baillie, and a range of DJ talent from across the country and beyond:
Tea and Cake Records (Hereford!) showcasing their diverse sounds; acclaimed music writer and DJ Laurent Fintoni (Spinscience) and Wormfood's own tracksuited ruffian Bobby Gandolf playing lary party music from the afro-bass diaspora.
We'll be starting early - for real this time! Max Baillie will be playing upstairs from 9pm...., and John Fairhurst from 10... please see timings below.
