The big band that helped define the sound of swing has been a propulsive force in jazz for over 70 years! Led by the legendary pianist from the 1930s until his death 50 years later and more recently by alumni saxophonist Frank Foster, trombonist Grover Mitchell and current director Bill Hughes, the orchestra enjoys a truly global following.
