Featuring the works of Carmem Gusmao. Carmem Gusmao was born in Brazil and grew up in Amazonia, in the heart of the rain forest. Her richly colored, soulful paintings reflect a passion for the culture, rituals and symbols of the Amazonia Mother Earth. Her work is also influenced by the likes of Jung, Baudelaire, Zola, Nietzsche and Kafka.

Art Gallery Information:
The Gallery is in the east wing of the Sunrise Civic Center, located at 10610 West Oakland Park Boulevarde, Sunrise, FL 33351. The Civic Center is on the south side of Oakland Park Boulevarde, just west of Nob Hill Road and behind the Dan Pearl Library.

The Gallery showcases traveling exhibits, as well as the work of area artists. To celebrate new openings, the Gallery hosts receptions that introduce Sunrise residents to the talented people behind the artwork. Admission to exhibits and receptions is free.

The Gallery is open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, please call (954) 747-4641.
