The Big Chill Presents Physicall Fit & Hipsters Don't Dance
Saturday November 26, 2011 at 9:00pm
The Big Chill House
257-259 Pentonville Road
London, England N1 9NL Get Directions
The Big Chill Presents is in for a special treat this November with London’s dancehall promoters Physically Fit and Hipsters Don't Dance teaming up for a special Dancehall Jamboree takeover. A mixture of the scene's legends, up comers and brightest stars including Mad Decent’s Jillionaire, Curtis Lynch & Mr Williamz and Serocee will be touching down for the night. It's a celebration of all things dancehall so get ready to make some noise it's a jamboree after all!

Mad Decent's Jillionaire has been travelling across the world with his unique sound, which combines Caribbean dancehall and soca. Stealing the show at 2009’s RBMA Major Lazer carnival party, his memorable set brought the spirit of Trinidad carnival to London. Since then he’s toured with Diplo, Switch and Skerrit Boy tearing up clubs all around Europe. He is currently preparing to launch his new label "Feel Up Records" this year and we can’t wait to having his fun carnival vibes at the Big Chill House.

Legendary UK producer and DJ Curtis Lynch (dubbed as the UK's version of King Jammy) has worked with some of the biggest names in music, from Gorillaz to Alicia Keys to Etana. Earlier this year he produced a bashment remix of Jessie J's Do It Like a Dude (featuring Lady Chann), which Jessie often uses during her live shows. His Necessary Mayhem label has consistently put out some of the best riddims in the UK with homegrown talent such as Tippa Irie, Stush and Mr Williamz adding their vocals. He will be joined by the latter, Mr Williamz on the mic, who is one of the biggest reggae stars in the UK. With number 1 singles in both the US and Japan under his belt, it’s no surprise Williams was named Artiste of the year by the BBC – he’s a real seasoned performer and should not be missed.

BBC Radio 1 / Nasty Fm's Serocee released one of the biggest dancehall songs this year, ‘Oh Na Na’ on his own imprint Jambrum Records. Produced by the legendary Tony " CD" Kelly it went on to be a smash in clubs and festivals around the world. Having worked with some of the biggest producers in the industry including Zed Bias, MJ Cole, Toddla T, Basement Jaxx, Serocee is an MC who is constantly in demand. This past year has seen him translate his MC prowess into DJ Sets, which mirror his fun filled persona.

After smashing our roof terrace this summer with his storming dancehall set, we can’t wait (to) have Roots Manuva’s right hand man Wrongtom back. Currently getting ready to release an album with former Labyrinth resident Deemas J, Wrongtom will be on hand to make sure this party rolls out until the early hours. Finishing off our line-up for the main room is Déjà vu FM’s Joe Grime and MC Freshada, expect a huge dose of dancehall, reggae and dance mixed with their own exoctic styles.

Heading up Room 2 is Brighton’s Murlo. Signed to Pollinate Records where he’s just about to release his first EP, Murio can count the likes of Mele, Dubbel Dutch and Dre Skull among his fans. Also on the bill is The Large, a major force in the UK dancehall scene, whether she’s championing the sound through her excellent blog http://shimmyshimmy.co.uk/, or through her radio show as part of Style and Swagger crew, every second Sunday on NTS Radio.

Also on hand will be the Physically Fit and Hipsters Don’t Dance residents who will bring their heavy skank, cheeky basslines and party madness to the night. This event is going to be roadblock, do not miss it!
