The UTSA Satellite Space proudly announces Welcome to the Monkey House, an exhibition featuring select work from San Antonio, Austin, Memphis and Canada. Welcome to the Monkey House exhibits twelve artists whose work investigates the uncertainty, fear, paranoia and angst pervading American popular culture. With war, global warming, corporate greed and disillusionment with government leaders in the foreground, the works succeed in offering a glint of hope for a better future. Ranging from detailed drawings, paintings, sculpture, installation and performance, this exhibition scrutinizes the ideological battles of our society.
This exhibition is free and open to the public and is available for viewing at The UTSA Satellite Space in the Blue Star Arts Complex located at 115 Blue Star at the corner of S. Alamo St. and Probandt.
