This course suitable for those who have completed all levels of Mandarin up to 602 or who have completed 540 hours of recent face to face tuition. Mandarin 603 is designed for those learners who have reached the proficiency that allows them to fulfil everyday social and transactional needs and wish to continue their study at a more advanced level. In addition to language skills, it furthers students' knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture and society. Each session consists largely of class and small group discussions around a core reading as the topic while some writing tasks are designed as homework for each week.
