The Alliance Francaise of Madras (AFM) conducts a Tibetan Cultural Weekend. On July 5 (from 3 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.), at AFM, there will be chanting by monks and interactions with the students, who will sing Tibetan songs. At 6.30 p.m., a documentary “Buddhism — The Message of the Tibetans” by Arnaud Desjardins will be screened. On the last day (July 6), chanting and songs apart, there will be a slideshow and talk on Tibet by Usha Kris, photographer. At 6.30 p.m., the film “Tantrism — The Message of the Tibetans by Arnaud Desjardins will be screened. At 7.30 p.m., “Kundun” (the title by which the Dalai Lama is addressed) by Martin Scorcese, based on the life and writings of the Dalai Lama, will be shown.
