Calgarians, this is your chance to
welcome and celebrate the Walk 4 Justice participants and supporters
Join women on the WALK 4 Justice
Feast and Round Dance
The Walk 4 Justice commemorates missing and murdered Aboriginal women.
The Walk 4 Justice is passing through Calgary on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, as it heads to Ottawa.
On June 21, 2008, National Aboriginal Awareness Day, a group of brave women and their supporters set out on a journey to the nation's capital. When they arrive in Ottawa they will have walked over 3,500 miles to present Prime Minister Steven Harper and Indian Affairs minister Chuck Strahl with a message from Aboriginal communities, and all Canadians: the violence against Aboriginal women must end.
For more general information call the Women's Centre of Calgary at 403-264-1155 or check out these websites ... and see the attached posters for more information. Please pass the word. All welcome.
