Saturday February 4, 2012 at 9:00pm
The Horse & Groom
28 Curtain Rd, Shoreditch
London, England Get Directions
Vibes downstairs with Phil Asher,Paddy Freeform, Wez Saunders / Smackdown upstairs w/ Sei A (Turbo Recordings) , Richie & Ed Lynn (Smackdown) & McShaft celebrating a night of House, dubstep and deep grooves over 2 floors

Vibes downstairs- After 2 great years TACTiLE ended when co-promoters and fellow residents Tomas and Mirror Mirror flew the nest and left London for greener pastures north of the border, but with a fantastic venue like the Horse and Groom for a home we didn't want to let go, so Paddy has picked up the baton and will continue to bring the Vibes. Featuring the same bass heavy mix of electronic house, deep dubstep, broken beats and all points in between on the big horse and groom sound system with the same atmosphere and vibe TACTiLE became known for.We kick things off my welcoming a very special guest and veteran of the London house and leftfield music scene, the legendary Phil Asher....
Since his first DJ slot at Delirium in 1991, Phil Asher has slowly built an extensive resume as an international jock, producer, and integral figure in London's dance music community. In the late '90s and early 2000s, Asher was central in the evolution of broken beat, as a founder of West London's Co-Op club, and as a prolific artist with countless remixes and numerous recording projects under his belt. Asher started his life in music in a rather unique fashion. As a youngster, he'd sneakily filch some of the records his father would bring home from a record store job and sell them to his schoolmates. Later on, he followed in his father's footsteps by working at record shops and developed his taste for several styles of music, encompassing jazz, funk, soul, disco and house. He ventured into DJ'ing in the early '90s, became part of Slip 'n' Slide's extensive Jazz in the House compilation/mix series, and by the late '90s, he was into production work and even began hosting a radio program - R Solution, with Kirk DeGiorgio and 4hero's Dego and Mark Mac - on London's Kiss FM.

Smackdown Upsairs- Sei A – born Andy Graham - moved from his native Glasgow to his adopted London just a year ago. Since then, though, he has been immersed in the hybrid house, firm techno and bass-heavy scenes that happily co-exist within the capital. Naturally, then, he has widened his already impressive sonic remit as a result. Despite having two solid LPs to his name (on French outlet Missive Music and Tiga's Turbo) Sei A is not someone to have been gobbled up by the hype machine. Instead, his music operates outside the normal lines, with fans and critical acclaim coming in from many different directions. That’s no surprise really, given that the man initially explored sturdy tech house, but is now much more at home painting vivid and emotional sonic pictures that touch on rather more considered house and bass tropes. It’s a mature, moody sound that prizes feeling over fads and is one which keeps the man behind it right on the vanguard… why else would Martyn and Midland and have agreed to remix it otherwise? The dichotomy of Frozen Flower and Flux, his two latest EPs on Turbo, show that Sei A comfortably inhabits both the delicate and the more deliberate ends of the electronic music spectrum
