Raymond Chandler, the most famous and arguably best writer of the noir fiction genre, set many scenes from his stories in Bay City, his sobriquet for Santa Monica. The inaugural NoirFest Santa Monica today honors the captivating novelist’s characteristic use of place in literature, film, photography and music.
