DRAGON BOAT ISRAEL is a joint Canada-Israel initiative to introduce the sport of dragon boat racing to Israel. The two day festival, which features boats from all over the world, will bring people to the north of Israel for an exciting, team-focused event.The Dragon Boat Israel Festival will be held on the southern shore of Lake Kinneret (also called the Sea of Galilee), which is the largest body of fresh water in Israel. Lake Kinneret is located in northern Israel. We will be hosted by the Ma'agan Holiday Village (pictured, right) and the Ohalo Boating Club. Festival highlights include: An Athletes' Village, Music and entertainment, A childrens' area, Beer Garden, Food Concessions, Marketplace featuring local arts, craft and merchandise, Three-Day Festival Package. Festivals built around dragon boat races mean the fun goes beyond the races themselves. Dragon boating becomes a community event, as those not in the boats come out to cheer on their families and friends and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
