Company C Contemporary Ballet Holds Special 10th Anniversary Gala

In celebration of its first decade, Company C Contemporary Ballet will hold a special benefit Gala Celebration Saturday, February 18, 2012 beginning at 6:30 pm at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The evening will feature a special retrospective performance featuring highlights from the past ten years, guest artists, an announcement of the choreography commission competition winner, post-performance dinner at the W Hotel, live auction, and dancing. In addition, Gala attendees will vote for the winner of Company C's first Choreography Competition to determine which Bay Area choreographer will receive a commission to create a new work for the Company next season.

The Gala benefit performance/special program includes excerpts from Alexandre Proia's "World to Come", Charles Anderson's "Song Remains the Same", Twyla Tharp's "Little Ballet", Antony Tudor's "Dark Elegies", Val Caniparoli's "boink!", Charles Anderson's "Akimbo", Twyla Tharp's "Eight Jelly Rolls", David Grenke's "Vespers", Patrick Corbin's "Partly Cloudy", Charles Anderson's "Aposiopesis", and Patrick Corbin's "Psychedelic Six-Pack". Patrick Corbin will be guest performer and guest host for the evening and Peter Anastos will also be on hand to celebrate and toast Company C's 10th anniversary.
