Spaced at Hideaway
Night Trippin’ for Terrestrials - Visuals from The Coastal Path

DJ Jerry Dammers
and his selection of whacked out Library Music and Reggae and Ska gems from the vault.

One of the great innovators in British music, founder of the Specials and head curator for the odyssey that is Spatial AKA, this is a great chance to see into the hallowed vinyl crates of Mr Dammers.
Akasha (Full Band)
The original purveyors of noirish Jazadelica, twisted beat science and psychedelic jazz bring their underground concoction of moody Fender Rhodes, highly calorific drums, crazy baby guitar, screaming funky horns, and lo–lo rock solid bass to the Hideaway for the first time.

From the electro ska skank of Mugwamp Mondo to the techno jazz mash up that is Cold Fusion journey with Akasha on their eclectic shuttle simulation through deep funk and dub via chilled filmic sequences, eastern flavored drum and bass plus brand new cuts from their forthcoming album “Spaced”.

Damian Hand and Charlie Casey embarked on their sonic adventures in 1994 with their Akasha Theme being featured on DJ Bizness’ seminal EP “PD3”.This brought them to the attention of the fledgling Wall of Sound label who released their first album “Cinematique” in 1998. Now widely recognized as the original purveyors of noirish Jazadelica they have continued to push boundaries in the intervening years.
It was perhaps inevitable that they would cut themselves adrift from the highly successful Wall of Sound stable and though continuing to collaborate with the likes of Lemon Jelly, Jerry Dammers , Basement Jaxx and Groove Armada they have remained outside, underground and left of the mainstream ever since.

Album three, “Spaced”, is now completed and according to the South London duo is “an altogether more urbane return to our jazzy and chilled roots with something a little more poppy and song-based in the mix as well,”

The Coastal Path
Present Experiments in the Drift Chamber.
Guitar-based atmospheric soundscapes and slow-evolving visuals from The Coastal Path with special guest Conor Kelly, the motor of Bell Helicopter and his distinctive ragged blues.
