Be An Artist At Westfield Montgomery With Free Westfield Family Fun Days

Come take a trip to the museum in February - join Westfield Montgomery and the Westfield Family Program for Family Fun Days featuring “Arts and Culture.” Kids will explore famous works of art and discover the artists within themselves.

On February 8th join us for story time with “My Dog Thinks I’m a Genius” by Harriet Ziefert, and “Make Van Gogh’s Bed” by Julie Appel as well as Kidsinger Jim, a cowboy singer that entertains with his original songs and stories and Michelle the Face Paint Lady. Kids will then explore their artistic abilities by creating their own masterpiece with famous works of art for inspiration, and enjoy a snack. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, kids will also create cards for the occasion.

On February 22nd Geneva Day School will host interactive story telling featuring Egyptian themed stories, starting with “One Blue Hippo” by The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Children will practice counting with the help of works of art from the Metropolitan Museum’s Egyptian collection. The second book, “Tickle Tut’s Toes” by Julie Appel, explores the wonders of ancient Egypt including King Tut’s tomb, mummies, and Nefertiti’s tomb. Children will enjoy a tea time snack and create Egyptian inspired jewelry as well as an ancient Egyptian mobile and My Gym of Bethesda will host fitness activities including tumbling.
