Introduction to Jewelry & Metals (A)

This introduction to the world of jewelry making begins with the simple skills of sawing, filing, sanding, soldering, texturing, annealing, stamping, polishing, safety, and design. During this course, you’ll make technical samples you can use for future reference as well as a sterling silver ring. The techniques you’ll be learning can be applied to almost any kind of project—large or small. You’ll learn the properties of metals like copper, brass, silver, and other nonferrous metals.

Continuing Techniques in Jewelry and Design

Take your jewelry-making skills to the next level. Develop your technical know-how with a series of exercises covering advanced fabrication techniques that will culminate in a final project that’s sure to turn heads. Emphasis will be placed on design and aesthetic considerations. Come with sketches of your most outrageous ideas and we’ll teach you the techniques you need to make them into wearable art. Students must provide their own metal.__No silver provided. Previous experience required. Prerequisite: Any jewelry class__
