Affordable Housing Needs Assessment for Washtenaw County

The Washtenaw County/City of Ann Arbor Office of Community Development is conducting an Affordable Housing Needs Assessment for Washtenaw County and they need resident input.
They want to know:
--What are the housing needs in the community?
--How should resources be allocated?
--What is working in the community and what isn't?
--What are the barriers to affordable housing?
--What information would be useful for you on a web-based GIS mapping system? Such as printing out maps showing how low-income census tracts, schools, aerial photos of parcels of land, zoning districts, elderly projects, etc.?
The final product will include:
--An analysis of our market
--Unmet demand
--Recommendations on targeted income levels, household sizes, tenure, amenities, price points, location and funding sources.
--Recommendations on how to address local barriers
Web-based GIS data analysis tool to enable developers, planners, policy amkers and the public to query the data assembled and produce a map with layers of information about a census block or parcel.
This will be an informal focus group. It will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006, 6:30-8:30pm and the Library Learning Resource Center (LLRC) at 4134 Washtenaw (at the corner of Hogback and Washtenaw).
